Reykjavik
This city is full of surprises and contradictions. It is the most northern capital in the world with libraries, numerous museums and galleries, and even an opera theatre. Also, it is clean of pollution, not like many other capitals. The city center is compact so you can see numerous places in a short time without traveling around, all in walking distance.
Gullfoss
Iceland is a land of waterfalls and one of its most famous is Gullfoss which means Golden falls. Its name came of the rainbow that graces the falls in sunny weather. All together its just a dramatic scenery that is worth taking the time to visit.
Blue Lagoon
It's an outdoor swimming pool. The pool is wonderfully warm and beautiful blue color, because of its suspended solids. It is a very popular attraction and it's becoming known worldwide because of the waters benefits.
Þingvellir
This is a national park in southwestern Iceland. It is a site full of historical, cultural, and geological significance. It is one of the most touristic destinations. The park lies in a rift valley. It marks the crest of the Mid Atlantic ridge and the Atlantic ridge, the boundary between two tectonic plates. South of it lies the largest natural lake of Iceland - Þingvallavatn.
Haukadalur Valley
Its the name of the valley that lies north od the lake Laugarvatn. It is the home of the geysers and other geothermal features. These geysers usually erupt every 5 - 10 minutes. The most famous and largest ones are Strokkur and Geysir. Also, there are more than 40 smaller hot springs and mud pots around.
The Northern lights
These are the lights that show in the evening because of solar particles entering the earth magnetic field and ionizing. The intensity depends on the activity of the sun. The show as lights in various colors across the night sky. The best time to see northern lights in Iceland is from September to mid-April., these are the months that are fully in dark.
